Marshall Goldberg is a former NFL Chicago Cardinals football player and Pittsburgh Panthers halfback. At the University of Pittsburgh, Goldberg led his team to the national championships two years in a row and the 1936 Rose Bowl championships. Goldberg was also a part of the team that earned the National Collegiate Championship in 1937.

In the 1939 NFL Draft, Goldberg was selected by the Chicago Cardinals. Goldberg played with the Cardinals for eight years, with a three year military service during World War II in the middle of it. With Marshall Goldberg, the Cardinals won the 1947 NFL Championship and the 1948 Division title. Ten years after retiring from football, Marshall Goldberg was enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame.

On April 3, 2006, Marshall Goldberg died at the age of 88 years old. Following his death, Goldberg’s family set up The Marshall Goldberg Traumatic Brain Injury Fun at the University of Illinois in his honor.
