Mike Keller Ditka is a former NFL Tight End and Coach, as well as Pitt Panther football player. At the University of Pittsburgh, Ditka was a three-season starter and led his team in receiving all three of them. Ditka was also a first-team selection on the College Football All-America Team. In 1986, Ditka was given a spot in the College Football Hall of Fame.

Mike Ditka was chosen in the 1961 NFL Draft in the first round by the Chicago Bears. Ditka went on to play for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys until retiring in 1972. A year later, Mike Ditka signed on as Assistant Coach to the Dallas Cowboys and was there for nine seasons. After joining the Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints’ coaching staff, Mike Ditka finally called it quits and took a broadcasting job with NBC.
