More Info
Pennsylvania native, Anthony Drew Dorsett, is a former NFL star and Pittsburgh Panthers running back. At the University of Pittsburgh, Tony Dorsett led his team to the 1976 national title earning him the Heisman Trophy, the Maxwell Award, the Walter Camp Award and the UPI Player of the Year. Dorsett was also a three-time First-team All-American and a Second-team All-American in 1974. After being considered one of the greatest running backs in college football history, it was no surprise when Tony Dorsett was a hot commodity in the 1977 NFL Draft.

In 1977, Dorsett was chosen by the Dallas Cowboys as the second pick in the first round of the NFL draft. With the Cowboys, Tony Dorsett had a strong 10 year football career before joining the Denver Broncos for one season. Following his long football career in the NFL, Tony Dorsett still holds a few records and was selected to both the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the College Football Hall of Fame in 1994. Now that his son, Anthony, no longer plays in the NFL, Dorsett has more time to make it to Pittsburgh to watch the Panthers football team take on their rivals.
